The Second South Somerset Sports Awards Are Coming to Yeovil
Following the success of last year's event, the Sports Development Team are holding the 2nd South Somerset Sport Awards on Thursday, 6 November at Westland Conference & Leisure Complex.
The event aims to recognise the hard work of performers, coaches and volunteers in South Somerset. All winners will receive cash prizes as well as an engraved trophy and certificate. The celebration of our local sporting heroes will once again be sponsored by AgustaWestland; and special guest for the evening is Athens Olympic Bronze medallist, Stephen Parry.
As one of GB's greatest ever swimmers, Stephen earned himself eleven major medals in a career spanning over 10 years. He retired at the very top of his game adding an Olympic Bronze medal from Athens to his vast collection. Stephen is also one of a handful of people to beat Olympic legend Michael Phelps!
