Explore the Outdoors - with the help of these websites!
Yeovil Vision has been contacted by Cathy Nettley with news of two websites, created by her family, that she hopes will be of interest to the communities of Yeovil. Cathy, who works as a Midwife in Yeovil District Hospital, told us:
'These are the only UK websites totally dedicated to providing free information on routes that are suitable for those who use wheelchairs and buggies. The walks on the database have been tried and tested by parents/guardians, wheelchair users or those knowledgeable about routes in the great outdoors. One of the biggest challenges can
often be knowing any appropriate routes. The websites databases currently hold over 500 walks covering the UK and this is added to on a daily basis.
The sites will allow you to:
* Read reviews of the routes before trying any walks
* Download walk directions and detailed OS maps free of charge
* Share your own routes for walking with a buggy or wheelchair
* Add your own comments about the routes for others users to view
Walking is a fantastic way to exercise - helping with fitness,
returning to health, combating postnatal depression or simply a way to
meet other people.'
