Box Factory / Stars Lane

The UDF identified the triangle of land between Stars Lane, Park Street / South Street and Dodham Brook as a major opportunity to bring investment into the town and transform what is at present an underused “back” to the town centre.

The Urban Development Framework (UDF) suggested that the predominate land use for this area should take the form of an Urban Village comprising urban residential with opportunities for mixed uses and commercial leisure on the principal frontages.

The approved Yeovil Vision Delivery Plan confirms the intention to complete a Master Plan to consider the development possibilities in greater detail.

The Master Plan will be informed by proposals for the re-development of the adjoining Foundry House / Mill Lane site.

Anticipated benefits include:

  • a future mixed-use development, which will revitalise an important town centre site
  • much land already in public ownership assisting future re-development opportunities
  • enhanced links to existing town centre assets such as the existing Yeo  Leisure Complex

LeftAlan Brown, Yeovil Vision Projects Director said, "The Stars Lane / Box Factory site has an important role to play in the long term regeneration of Yeovil Town Centre. Careful consideration will need be given to the relocation of the existing car parking spaces or perhaps their incorporation into any new development." Right
