Yeovil Country Park

Green Flag Country ParkYeovil’s award winning “Green Flag Country Park is a unique asset and offers first class public access and amenity, particularly at Ninesprings and Penn Hill.

The potential for creating improved linkage between the Town and Yeovil Country Park is regarded as a major opportunity within the context of Yeovil Vision.

To capture this potential so that the town can take better advantage of its spectacular landscape setting, a broad pedestrian friendly “Promenade” space is proposed along the southern boundary of the Country Park.

The first section of this Promenade will be built as part of the Foundry House / Mill Lane development.

Opportunities also exist to consider the establishment of a Visitor Centre and to improve signage and gateway entrances.

The Yeovil Country Park:

  • Provides a valuable amenity and open space in close proximity to the town centre
  • Is accessible by public transport.
  • Contributes to promoting a healthy lifestyle

Left Katy Menday, Senior Countryside Officer SSDC said, "Yeovil country park is a fantastic resource for the people of Yeovil and the ranger team are delighted to be working closely with the Vision team and Yeovil Town Centre Partnership to develop even better links into the town. The ranger team at the Country Park provide a valuable front line presence talking and working with the public. The park is all about providing safe access to the fantastic countryside around Yeovil, and offering people many ways to get involved in wildlife and conservation. Yeovil is in a unique position to be able to offer such great experiences so close to the busy town centre."  Right
